Local Community Events
Kerrisdale plays host to many exciting events throughout the year, including the Shaughnessy 8km run, Kerrisdale Carnival Days, the Christmas tree sales event, among others. The community was also privileged to be chosen as part of the Olympic Torch Relay event during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
One of the most exciting of these events is Kerrisdale Carnival Days (see photo below of our very own Colin Holyk and his band Line 49 performing in 2010). This festival transforms West 41st and West 40th into a fun filled carnival zone with face painting, free horse and carriage rides, clowns, sidewalk sales, the Kerrisdale Idol competition and live music.
